New Chair & Vice Chair of Trustees!

We are delighted to announce that the role of Chair and Trustee has been offered to Prof. Kelechi Nnoaham and the role of Vice Chair and Trustee has been offered to Dr. Julia Terry. Both applied after an open call for expressions of interest, and a careful selection process.

Professor Nnoaham is currently the Executive Director of Public Health for Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and has a rich and wide-ranging experience in public and global health leadership. He has been active in supporting the Network for years and is keen to take forward the momentum at this moment of transition. He says:

“As a medic with African heritage who has worked for the NHS for nearly 2 decades now, I am very much aware of the challenges faced by diaspora health workers in the NHS as well as the opportunities that are available to be realised for the benefit of both Wales and Africa.”

Dr Julia Terry is currently Associate Professor at Swansea University. She has a background as a registered mental health nurse and has rich experience in research and education in mental health, especially in collaborative working and community involvement. She says:

“I am interested in changing health inequalities and working with communities to support and drive change that sees better lives for all.”

Both Prof. Nnoaham and Dr. Terry will be formally joining the Wales and Africa Health Links Network Board from July 1st 2022 at the Annual General Meeting.
