Dr Kathrin Thomas

Kathrin began her career as a GP, in Liverpool and the South Wales Valleys. She took on several strategic roles in primary care which led her increasingly into population health, with an enduring interest in addressing inequities in health outcomes.  This led her to an MSc in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and then training to be a Consultant in Public Health, including placements in the WHO in Geneva.

 

She has worked as a Public Health Consultant and as a GP ever since.

 

She has a long-standing interest in global health. While working in North Wales, she was the Chair between 2012 and 2021 of the Betsi Quthing International Health Partnership with the Ministry of Health, Quthing District, Lesotho.

 

She is a consultant in public health in Wales currently based in Cardiff, and Honorary Lecturer at the School of Health Sciences at Bangor University
